An Unexpected Indulgence

Beckon Lactose Free Sea Salt Chocolate Chip ice cream was created accidentally, but turned out to be one of our best-selling flavors! When Beckon first started selling at the SOWA farmers market, where co-founders Katy Flannery and Gwen Burlingame made lactose free ice cream themselves. One day, Katy accidentally added too much salt to a batch of vanilla ice cream. To not waste the batch, we tossed in some chocolate chips with the intention of having a one-off flavor, but it quickly sold out at the market! It immediately became a fan favorite for its combination of creamy vanilla, decadent chocolate, and hints of sea salt.
